The Loch Long Hotel was the first hotel to be purchased by the Wells family back in 1979. From this early start grew Lochs and Glens Holidays.

Constructed in the early 1870's, the original hotel was bulit by an Alexander Ross and called Ross's hotel.

Originally a small road side hotel, it has had several extensions over the years with many modern bedrooms, many with lovely loch and mountain views.

The building is situated on the edge of the small village of Arrochar at the head of a tidal loch that extends 17 miles from the sea.

The spectacular views from the hotel are dominated by the rugged peaks of the "Arrochar Alps" that encircle it.

There are pleasant strolls to be enjoyed among the hills, or the more intrepid may prefer to tackle some of the higher peaks, the best known being Ben Arthur, the craggy mountain known locally as "The Cobbler".

Loch Lomond is just 2 miles to the east and to the north, the road winds over the "Rest and be Thankful" pass on its way to the Highlands and Islands.
