First Day - South

Arrive at the Highland Hotel in time for dinner.

Cruise Loch Linnhe and explore Fort William

You are in the true heart of Scotland when you wake up to the floating mists of Loch Linnhe and the distant hills of Sunart. The breath-taking scenery of Lochaber surrounds your historic hotel from which you will take a trip on the only loch that follows the Great Glen Fault, Loch Linnhe. Enjoy breath taking views of Ben Nevis, enjoy the close up views of the Corpach Shipwreck, the entrance to the Caledonian Canal and explore the small Islands and the birdlife around Corpach. Afterwards, explore the outdoor ‘capital’ of Scotland, Fort William.

Inverness & Aviemore

Also known as the ‘Highland Capital’, Inverness is the main city in the Scottish Highlands and although it is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe it still retains its market town atmosphere. Inverness offers a wide range of local produce and shops to explore as well as castles and heritage sites. We will travel via Loch Laggan and through scenic glens into the very heart of Scotland, Aviemore, a popular highland resort and centre for both summer visitors and winter skiers.

Glencoe, Rannoch Moor & Oban

Glencoe is undoubtedly the most popular and scenic glen in Scotland. The sheer scale and grandeur of the landscape is sure to inspire and the turbulent history of the area will fascinate visitors. Then visit nearby Rannoch Moor - one of Scotland's outstanding areas of natural wilderness, before heading to the west coast. The largest town in Argyll & The Isles, Oban is known as the 'Gateway to the Isles' and is the 'Seafood Capital of Scotland'. Oban has a way of drawing out the romantic side of visitors, with its mists that roll in from the sea and the hills which overlook the bay. The most iconic feature within Oban is McCaig's Tower, a Colosseum lookalike that stands above the town and offers wonderful views out west. From seafood to whisky, Oban offers a great range of local produce - all well worth sampling!

Mallaig, Sunart, Moidart & The Corran Ferry

Enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer as you travel North on the famous 'Road to the Isles'. Visit the pretty fishing port of Mallaig, the wild landscape of Moidart and the historic mining village of Strontian. Explore some of the most rugged and remote coastlines of the West Coast with its misty islands, castles and wildlife before returning via the Corran Ferry.

Ben Nevis Distillery & Caledonian Canal

The Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. Our national drink is brewed at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which provides an amazing backdrop to the distillery. After sampling a dram your coach will explore the Caledonian Canal – a magnificent feat of Scottish engineering stretching 60 miles through the stunning Great Glen. The Canal is an engineering masterpiece and Neptune’s Staircase, built by Thomas Telford between 1803-1822, is the longest staircase lock in Britain.
