Christmas Eve
Pitlochry is beautifully set in Highland Perthshire and has been a popular tourist destination since Queen Victoria made her Grand Tour of Scotland. This friendly little town boasts quaint architecture and beautiful scenery, as well as local crafts and produce. Return to the Loch Tummel Hotel for lunch and games in the afternoon, followed by a complimentary sherry reception, dinner and entertainment.
Christmas Day
Sitting on the banks of the River Tay, Perth is the cosmopolitan centre and bustling city of rural Perthshire offering a range of entertainment, shops, cafes and restaurants. Perth was the former capital city of Scotland which was recently made a city again by the Queen in 2012 as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. With a rich history as the Scottish capital Perth is an extremely interesting place to visit. You will also have a short stop in the charming village of Dunkeld. The majestic Dunkeld Cathedral dominates this picturesque Perthshire village. Nearby, walk along Atholl Street's variety of specialist shops or take a walk down by the river, which provides excellent views of Thomas Telford's Dunkeld Bridge. In the evening a traditional Christmas dinner will be served at the hotel followed by live entertainment.
New Year's Eve
This small Scottish city blends old and new together seamlessly. Tour Captain Scott’s famous expedition ship, Discovery, and learn about the 3-year voyage to the Antarctic. You can also venture into V&A Dundee, an international design centre. It will host major exhibitions, celebrate Scotland's design heritage, inspire and promote contemporary talent, and encourage design innovation for the future. Then explore the city centre where there are plenty of shops, entertainment, food and drink. The theme tonight is New Year’s Eve and there will be a candlelit dinner and a Hogmanay party to celebrate!
