30th December - A trip to Scotland's largest city, Glasgow
Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and is famed for its vibrancy and the friendliness of its people. The city is constantly developing and has an energetic atmosphere. Take a walk down Glasgow’s ‘Style Mile’ which boasts over 1500 shops including the St Enoch Centre, Buchanan Galleries, Princes Square, Argyll Arcade, House of Fraser and John Lewis. Visit the Willow Tearooms inspired by the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh on Buchanan Street for coffee and cake. Also, keep an eye out for street performers, also known as buskers, who bring life to the city of Glasgow and create an enhanced atmosphere. In the evening enjoy a complimentary sherry reception followed by dinner and entertainment.
Hogmanay - A trip to Oban, the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’
Enjoy a leisurely morning with the chance to explore the grounds, relax with a book or join in our programme of activities. After lunch at the hotel your driver will be waiting to take you on a visit to Oban. Oban has a way of drawing out the romantic side of visitors, with its mists that roll in from the sea, and the hills which overlook the bay. The most iconic feature within Oban is McCaig’s Tower, a Colosseum lookalike that stands above the town and offers wonderful views out west. From seafood to whisky, Oban offers a great range of local produce - all well worth sampling! Return to the hotel where dinner and entertainment will be held in the evening as you see in the bells and celebrate the start of the new year!
New Year’s Day - A day of festivities & fun
Celebrate the new year with brunch followed by a varied programme of entertainment. Enjoy a day of leisure to take a local stroll or relax with a book before light snacks are served in the afternoon.
